Papers of Joseph Parker Norris [manuscript], 1876-1879

(1) and (2) are autograph letters signed from Norris to Ingleby. (1) dated November 24, 1876; discusses Ingleby's chapter on "The portraiture of Shakespeare" and the Stratford Bust; (2) dated July 14, 1879 ; mentions the Epitome; discusses a portrait of Shakespeare and the idea that it may be a portrait of Ben Jonson. Norris' address appears on (1) and (2) as: 204 South 7th Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A. (3) a "List of books privately printed by, or published for J.O. Phillipps (né Halliwell) in the "Shakespearean Library" of J. Parker Norris, no. 204 South Seventh Street, Philadelphia, United States"; (4) and (5) are two newspaper clippings of the same article on Shakespeare portraits by J. Parker Norris, from The daily evening telegraph, Philadelphia, dated Monday, November 17, 1873. "With compliments of J. Parker Norris, 204 South 7th Street, Philadephia, United States" is handwritten at the top of both clippings. (6) and (7) are each one printed catalog description of Shakespeare portraits (2 leaves each).
